The 2027 Sacred Space Conference is slated for Thursday, March 25th – Sunday, March 28th, 2027 at The Hotel at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. As with all conferences, many hands are needed! We are looking for volunteers for the Registration desk, Author’s table, and Room Hosts.
Registration desk duties include welcoming people to the conference, checking their names into the registration list or helping them pay for the conference at the desk, and giving people their badges. Duties for the Author’s desk include talking to guests about the various authors’ books and making recommendations as well as managing the money for each author’s books.
Volunteer shifts are two hours in duration. As in recent years, 3 shifts reduces your conference fee to $150, 4 shifts reduces it to $125, 5 shifts reduces it to $100, and if you work 6 or more shifts your conference fee is waived. No shift will overlap with more than one class.
A new position we are implementing for 2027 is Room Host. Room Hosts will be assigned a conference room (if you apply early enough, you get to pick the room) and will support every class or ritual in that room. Duties include adjusting the lights, helping the teachers with the A/V tech (there will be training before hand), helping anyone with accessibility needs get to a seat, keeping an eye on the time for the teachers, and generally helping out the teacher if needed. A Room Host role is one full day (other than meals and bathroom breaks, of course). Staff support and assistance will be available. The Room Host perk is that you get to attend every class or ritual in that room without fail; the disadvantage is only attending classes in that room. Room hosts, due to the nature of the shift, have their conference fee waived.
