Conference Submissions

The 2027 Sacred Space Conference is slated for Thursday, March 25th, through Sunday, March 28th, 2027, at The Hotel at The University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. Workshop and Ritual Proposals are being accepted now through August 1st, 2026

We use a peer review process for selection based on methods used in academic scholarly communication. Program notes and policies to consider for submission:

– Material should be appropriate for an audience who has significant experience  in their traditions, although they may not have specialized knowledge. [Please note, almost all our attendees have at least 10 years experience and the median is closer to 25.]  If you need to discuss some ideas, please contact info@sacredspacefoundation.org.

-Our program slots are typically 75 minutes

-What you offer must be logistically possible within a hotel framework (e.g. no fire or incense)

-Classes, rituals, make-and-take workshops, and classes/workshops with elements of ritual are all welcome

-Everything must be open to all attendees

-If a workshop or ritual includes explicit sexual content, including but not limited to nudity or any demonstration or practicum on sexual content, it MUST BE DESCRIBED AND EXPLAINED in the application and the teacher or ritual leader must spell out, specifically, what is going to be done in the class/ritual description.  This is important for the purposes of informed consent.

-If you are proposing a ritual, please read our expectations for ritualists: https://www.sacredspacefoundation.org/expectations/.

-If you are requesting a materials fee for sessions, you must tell us in advance and you are responsible for collecting the fee. The conference cannot do this for you.

If you will need audiovisual support (projector, screen, audio, microphone & PA) PLEASE be sure to include that information in the form.  You are expected to bring your own computer or device from which to run your files.  The schedule is designed so that we do not have more people requiring equipment in one time slot than we have equipment to provide.  If you do not tell us your AV needs in this form, we cannot guarantee we will have it for you.  The conference can set up the equipment, but cannot provide staff to run it for you during your session.

Thank you, and thank you for submitting your proposal(s)!  Our conference can only be as good as the pool of submissions from which we can draw.
